Our camp is a 6-week experience for children 5 to 14 years old. Camp includes an academic component, the arts, athletics, field trips and plain old fun. Being a distinctively Christian camp, campers are taught and memorize God’s Word in fun and creative ways. Over the last five summers of camp we have served over 200 youth from our neighborhood.
Summer camp also serves as a great tool to raise up the next generation of leadership as our camp is run by young adults from ourneighborhood. Through out the summer they gain invaluable leadership and life skills that will help them be successful in life. The spiritual formation of these leaders is a key part of their summers as interns.
After School Program (ASP)
When our church launched in 2008, we quickly created an after school program to help address the academic and spiritual needs of youth from our community in a safe and loving environment. Because of some reforms in public education, students began arriving home sometimes not until 6 pm so we took a hiatus from offering the ASP. Now that we’ve learned the landscape a little better, we relaunched the ASP in the spring of 2012 and are excited about once again fulfilling this need. The After School Program meets every Monday through Thursday from 4pm to 6pm. If you are interested in donating or volunteering please contact Nika Carter at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Children’s Church and Wednesday Bible Study
In Jesus’ economy children are important and not just for the sake of the future but even now. We make a concerted effort to ensure that Children’s Church on Sundays and Wednesdays is not simply a time of childcare but rather a time for the children to learn about God’s love and His Word. The outline of the children’s curriculum mirrors what is being taught in our church services and Bible studies.
